  • About Dr Jane Richards

Jane completed her undergraduate and postgraduate clinical psychology training at Flinders University in South Australia, and her doctorate at the University of South Australia. She has over 25 years experience as a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), she is a Board Approved Supervisor and she is a Fellow of both the College of Clinical Psychologists and the College of Organisational Psychologists of the Australian Psychological Society.

She works both as an individual therapist and as a consultant to workplaces on psycho-safety issues and recruitment matters.

Jane has worked with many individuals and groups including young and older adults, early, mid and late career, emergency personnel, teachers, carers, children and young people in one on one, school, government, private workplaces and medical settings. She has undertaken numerous individual and group assessments to identify strengths, areas for development, cognitive abilities, achievement levels and specialist profiling for suitability to unique roles and locations.

As a therapist, Jane has developed a compassionate, empathic, responsive and flexible style of therapy that is readily and creatively tailored to the unique context of the individual. She uses evidenced-based psychological practices which include a cognitive behavioural approach, including trauma focused cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectical behavioural strategies, narrative therapy and clinical hypnosis to enable therapy to suit each individual 's preference and needs.

As a consultant, Jane is recognised as an experienced and strategic manager who enjoys engaging, developing and aligning people and performance to the business strategy, inspiring others to greater performance, and building organisational confidence through the management of people, processes and systems.
